Planning

We'll walk you through the Planning & Design stages - from getting your land ready for development, picking home layouts, getting blueprints engineered, to getting your plans approved. Our checklist will ensure all bases are covered in detail and in writing. We will know which materials are to be used and any sub-contractors needed.

Your initial BID and Budget will be discussed in detail.

In the end, Jeff and Kristine will put together a binder with every material used (paints, glues, tile, etc) and its data/safety sheets. These MSDS documents provide the materiel used in the product and its VOC output, the chemical output from these products.

Blueprints -Jeff Ogle Construction

Blueprints & Engineering

Do you have blueprints yet?

If so, we move to the permit stage and are closer to start building.

If not, even better. We can find an architect of your choosing or we can draw your plans and give you the house you've always dreamed of. Jeff and Kristine will sit down with you and go over our new construction checklist (Link Below) to begin the process. House placement, window placement, roof alignment, etc, are key to an energy efficient home. Any architectural style is at your choosing.

Jeff talks with the engineer before and during the build to ensure his hardware and methods are used.

Permits & Billing

Do you have building permits?

If so, great, that means you are ready to build and so are we. Jeff is ready to start a build May 2021.

If not, we will handle this process for you.

Do you have financing yet?

Jeff can't help with financing but can help guide you. Financing is the first step in the construction process. Knowing what you can afford and a 100% sure plan to pay for it is #1. Talk to a lender about the many ways to finance your dream home. This is the first question we will ask you, but feel free to contact us before hand.

Land

Location, Location, Location.

Do you have your land yet?

The topography of your lot is very important to the style and location of your house. Water/rain drainage, solar gains (free energy), wind, and solar panels all play a part into how your land is laid out. Jeff is very green friendly and tries to use every advantage he can. Knowing where all of your utilities (septic, water, power, gas) are placed is crucial to the building and land.

We develop lots on our own and can certainly help you with your dream home. If you haven't purchased land yet, give us a call and we'll help you find the perfect spot.

Green Building

Every contractor should be heading this direction. With utility prices only getting higher by the day, an energy efficient house is a must for the future. Jeff believes in "green" building and researches todays methods and products for a more green home. Green building consists of energy efficiency, solar gains, how the products are made and transported, the harmful gases they expel in your home, and over insulating your home to accommodate your specific climate. To make a green home, the house has to work as a system, everything working together.

Stamped & Stained Concrete - Jeff Ogle Construction

Concrete

Slab Floors, Stem Walls, Garages, Patios, Driveways, and Walkways - we'll frame and pour it all.

Tired of plain concrete?  We can stamp and stain it for you.

There's two things we know about concrete, it's going to crack and it's going to get hard fast. Knowing this, we better have everything planned out. We will know where every relief/break line will be before we start.

We love staining, stamping and rolling concrete.

Framing - Jeff Ogle Construction

Framing

All Framing is done by Jeff and his team to ensure a strong and reliable house. Our house is built for efficiency and durability. Jeff speaks with the engineer before and during construction so his methods and hardware are utilized. We never cut corners on strength. Every wall will be string lined and shimmed for visibly straight and aesthetically pleasing drywall and finish material.

This is the hardest area to be green. Jeff loves to add extra studs for strength, but has researched and utilizes a green approach to framing.

Roofing - Jeff Ogle Construction

Roofing

Tile, asphalt shingles, metal?  We'll help you decide on what is best for your home. The climate and geographical location play a huge part in what type of roofing you choose.

We like a well vented attic and minimal protrusion points.

Cut and stack roof and ceiling systems allow more attic space and more room for change in the future.  Keeping a neutral attic climate helps to lower HVAC and utility costs.

Electrical - Jeff Ogle Construction

Electrical

We're meticulous when it comes to electrical wiring.  We keep our wires and boxes nice, neat, and properly labeled.  We customize the locations of outlets and switches specific to our clients' needs. Jeff likes to add future wires to boxes and walls to plan for the future, even if you don't think you will need it. We follow current building codes to prevent any potential fire hazards.

Want Solar, just ask.  Our houses are always solar-aware and solar-ready.

Plumbing - Jeff Ogle Construction

Plumbing

We use PEX and copper throughout the house for all water-supply needs.  It offers high-heat resistance and long-term durability. We catalog every fitting and pipe to know where it is after drywall and years to come.

Heating water accounts for between 15-30% of a households total energy consumption.

Tankless water heaters are a good start.  A recirculation unit can be installed if wanted.

Location is the key!

HVAC & Attic - Jeff Ogle Construction

HVAC

We plan and design every house for maximum energy efficiency.  We love whole house fans and over-insulation.  Your HVAC is one of the most important decisions in your home.

HVAC is not just a heater and a cooler, it is also the ventilation and air quality of your home.  Air quality and moisture content is the overall health of a home.  So don't forget the V in HVAC!

Insulation - Jeff Ogle Construction

Insulation

Over Insulate!!! Green building suggests you over-insulate your home by 150% of your local building requirements.

We insulate our homes well to keep energy costs low.  Jeff plans for maximum insulation and designs his build to accommodate.

As a "green" builder, insulation is the most important. However, insulating your home is a system, and the entire build must be incorporated together.

Drywall - Jeff Ogle Construction

Drywall

Smooth?  Textured?

Whatever you want. We pay attention to the little details in our clients' design.

Every wall is string-lined and shimmed for an aesthetically pleasing surface. Our drywall is clean and straight!
